India Post Orders Promotion and Posting of Senior Administrative Grade Officers to HAG

The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has issued an official order regarding the promotion and posting of Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) officers of the Indian Postal Service (IPS), Group ‘A’, to the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG).

According to the order dated 16 February 2026, the President of India has approved the promotion of SAG officers to HAG in Pay Matrix Level 15 (₹1,82,200 – ₹2,24,100). The promotions will take effect from the date the officers assume charge of their new posts and will remain valid until further orders. These promotions are on an ad-hoc basis.



Details of Promotion and Posting

  • Shri P. N. Ranjit Kumar (IPoS: 1993)
    Presently serving as DDG, Postal Directorate, New Delhi, he has been promoted to HAG and posted as Chief Postmaster General (CPMG), Kerala Circle, against a vacant post.

  • Shri Brajesh Kumar (IPoS: 1998)
    Currently PMG, Jabalpur Region, he has been promoted to HAG and posted as CPMG, North East Circle, following the transfer of Shri Sanjiv Ranjan.

Transfer Order Issued

The competent authority has also ordered the transfer and posting of the following HAG officer with immediate effect:

  • Shri Sanjiv Ranjan (IPoS: 1996)
    Presently CPMG, North East Circle, he has been transferred and posted as CPMG, Jharkhand Circle, consequent upon the promotion of another officer to HAG+.

The order further states that relevant charge reports will be submitted in due course, and the Hindi version of the order will follow. Copies of the order have been forwarded to all concerned authorities, including senior officials in the Postal Directorate, Circle Offices, and other administrative units.

This development reflects the ongoing administrative restructuring within India Post aimed at strengthening leadership at the highest levels for efficient postal operations across the country.
