📘 End of Year (EOY) Instructions 2025–26 – Simplified

 


🔴 1. No Transaction Days

  • 01 April 2026 & 02 April 2026
    • ❌ No POSB counter transactions allowed
    • ❌ No Internet/Mobile Banking (DOP e-banking, IPPB sweep)
    • ✅ Public notice must be displayed in all post offices

🟡 2. Cheque Handling

  • ✅ Cheques will still be accepted on all working days (including 1st & 2nd April)
  • No cheque scanning on 01 April (clearing holiday)
  • ✅ Scanning starts from 02 April
  • ⚠️ Process cheques quickly (important for PPF/SSA interest calculation by 5th)

🟢 3. Important Deadline – 31 March 2026

  • ✅ All cheques received before 31 March must be:
    • Scanned
    • Cleared
    • Posted in accounts
  • ✅ New accounts (with cleared cheques) must be opened by 31 March

🔵 4. Account Verification (VERY IMPORTANT)

  • ❗ Ensure no account remains unverified (SB, PPF, SSA, NSS)
  • ❌ If not verified → Interest will NOT be credited

🟠 5. 30 March 2026 – Critical Working Day

  • ⏰ Complete all transactions by 5:00 PM
  • ✅ Verify all transactions immediately
  • ⏰ Complete HISCOD by 6:00 PM
  • ❌ After HISCOD → No further transactions allowed

🟣 6. System Restrictions During EOY

  • Some system menus will be disabled temporarily
  • Staff must coordinate with:
    • CPC
    • CEPT
    • IPPB CBS Team

🟤 7. Salary, Pension & Reports

  • Salary/Pension processing → after EOD of 31 March
  • Reports available → after EOY completion
  • Interest & account reports → shared by mid-April

⚫ 8. Staff Responsibility

  • All teams must be available during EOY process
  • Quickly report any system issues/blockages

🟢 9. Holidays & Workload Planning

  • Holidays:
    • 31 March (Mahavir Jayanti)
    • 03 April (Good Friday)
  • Next working day: 04 April 2026
    • ⚠️ Expect heavy crowd
    • ✅ Keep counters open full day (even 5 April if needed)

🔵 10. CPC (Processing Centres) Instructions

  • Help post offices clear system errors on 30 March
  • Stay open until all issues are resolved
  • Monitor smooth completion of HISCOD

🟡 11. Cheque Clearing (Special Case)

  • RBI/NPCI may run late clearing sessions on 31 March
  • Chennai GPO must ensure all government cheques are processed

  • 🚫 No transactions: 1 & 2 April
  • 📅 Final deadline: 31 March (all clearing + posting done)
  • ⚠️ 30 March: Finish work early + HISCOD by 6 PM
