The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, has issued a clarification (dated 02.03.2026) regarding the grant of financial upgradation under the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) Scheme. 🔍 Key Highlights: MACP & Promotion Refusal Refusal of a regular promotion (whether through seniority, LDCE, or other methods) is treated as a declination of promotion. Such refusal can impact eligibility for financial upgradation under the MACP Scheme. LDCE (Limited Departmental Competitive Examination) Posts filled through LDCE are considered promotional posts, even though they are filled via examination. Therefore, refusal to join such posts is treated the same as refusal of promotion.
